This is the sixth and last post of a series about the values we live by at SISU.
sisu: /ˈsisu/
noun (Finnish)
- Tenacity, determination, perseverance.
- Acting rationally in the face of adversity.
The projects we undertake are often complex and the work we do is not easy.
To generate lasting value for our customers with the products and services we create, strong determination and sustained effort are necessary.
That is why we have “sisu.”

Having sisu is persevering in a rational way and does not mean being stubborn. We do not create, encourage, or undertake “death marches.”
We believe that all the goals that we set for ourselves can be achieved with a sustainable pace of work.
Having sisu is solving problems with enthusiasm, responding with curiosity, interest, dedication, and effort.
Having sisu is recognizing when we make mistakes, fixing them, learning from them, and moving on.
Having sisu is also the ability to see beyond the immediate obstacles that hold us back. It is thinking long term and planning for success. Without determination, tenacity, and perseverance we wouldn’t be able to do what we do and that’s why we chose to name our company SISU.
This wraps-up our series on Our Values. Find the rest of the posts here:
